Description of the Renaissance classes:
Guitar for Beginners (grades 3-12)
(Exceptions for pilot 2009-10 for first and second grade students)
Guitar for Beginners is a course suited for the novice guitar player. During the six weeks of sessions the musicians will learn: the parts of the guitar, the steps to tune a guitar, the names of the strings, basic chords, and a short song. Guitar for Beginners requires that each musician furnish a guitar of appropriate size and function for the student along with patience and focus to master the motor skills and information presented during the sessions.
If the musicians practice for 20 minutes three days a week, during the six week session, following the exercises presented in sessions they will be able to advance to private lessons provided as instructors are available.
