Welcome to Amicitia!

Education for Transformation

Mrhaba! Welcome to Amicitia American School of Fez, an international tri-lingual school located in the breathtaking city of Fez, Morocco. We offer an American-style education in an international environment, serving students from all over the world while honoring the beauty of the preserved ancient culture of Fez still present in the city today.

Our desire for opening Amicitia, which means friendship, was that by working side by side with people from around the world we could create a world-class educational community. We want to teach our children appreciation of the arts, technology, and athletics for a well-rounded education in an environment in which we would want our own children.

In our first years, we found that while we were working to teach our children academics, they taught us the simplicity of crossing language barriers with the warmth of a smile and the belief that there is no cultural gap that cannot be bridged. Our education continues to grow with this next generation.

Regardless of our countries of origin, we have hope that our children can change the world. It is with this hope that we have created Amicitia.

How do we compare to other American/International schools?

“I just wanted to let you know that Amicitia is GREAT :) Because of the great education I got there, I am now way ahead of my class here in South Africa. Just thought you’d like to know.” Amicitia student for 5 years

“When we came back to the States after being in Amicitia, my children were both 1-2 years ahead of their peers here. Thank you, Amicitia!”

How well does Amicitia prepare students for college?

“I applied and was accepted into the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Colorado at Boulder, Arizona State University, the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities, and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. I decided to attend UW Madison for its great biochemistry program. In retrospect, Amicitia helped me follow a strong work ethic due to the inclusive education it offers. Most importantly, the diversity at the school helped foster a spirit of open-mindedness, and thus strengthened my social skills and allowed me to find my place in a completely different country.”

I have been accepted by all these universities, and I choose to go to UTSA! I have felt so prepared by Amicitia, college was not very challenging to me thanks to Amicitia. Amicitia teachers have definitly helped us to prepare for college.” – Wiam Bousfiha (2010 Graduate)
